Artist Statement Submitted 2016
Photography is a linear extension of painting. The same considerations of composition and hues and shadows are given to both. For me, the shadows are much more intriguing than their creators and the geometry of architecture and nature are undivided. Everyday landscapes of nature and man-made constructions are so present they go unnoticed and underappreciated. I search for a unique perspective or a detailed image of objects hiding in plain sight - abstracting reality to the point that it is unrecognizable or exposing it to the viewer for the first time. All of the images I capture are via the iPhone.
