Exuviae is a body of work that deals with the inherent vulnerability of life during times of change. In order for many life forms to become stronger, self sufficient and powerful they must first shed their skin or exoskeleton. This results in a period of weakness where they are susceptible to the dangers of their environment. These forms represent discarded exoskeletons, which may have resulted in either the end of life during this time of change or the emergence of a stronger and more resilient life form. This becomes an interesting cycle where the newly formed protective coating will eventually become a hindrance that will slow further growth and progression.
