Artist Statement Submitted 2018
Currently I devote my time to the medium of watercolor, as I believe watercolor is the most demanding medium there is for artist. With oils or acrylics an artist can easily correct of cover up mistakes. This is not easily done with watercolor and the medium has an almost zen quality to it. Through my work, I hope to promote watercolor as a major art medium in the art world. My work is realistic in nature and I am currently focused on producing landscape paintings of our National Parks to raise public awareness for the need to preserve these national treasures. To carry on the 150-year tradition the same as the Hudson River Valley artists who sparked US Congress to create the National Parks. In my paintings I hope to capture the light, evoke a feeling from the viewer, and of course, capture the beauty of a place in time.
