Kelly Hanning

Artist Statement Submitted 2018

Kelly A. Hanning is a Tallahassee-based figure and landscape artist, currently working towards a Bachelor of Fine Arts programs at Florida State University and showing work in galleries in North Florida--most recently at the Honors Scholars and Fellows House at Florida State University (April 2018) and the Gadsden Arts Center and Museum (October 2017). She primarily works in oils, but uses acrylic for large scale outdoor projects, such as her installation at Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival (March 2018). Her work focuses on strict color palettes, female sexuality, and historical and modern day politics, and is heavily influenced by music, mythology and mysticality.
