Thousands of delicately stained used tea bags morphing into light-as-air sculptures create serenely meditative spaces where viewer/participants might dip a wand into a tea box to find a special message or encounter gracefully transparent tea bag panels covered with flocked designs made from the tea leaves these bags once held. Imagine these pieces whispering embedded stories and shared conversations of absent consumers around tiny de-crusted sandwiches, the welcoming mugs or the comforting “cuppas” that each tea bag represents. Be mindful of these genteel gatherings and visualize tea’s rich, sometimes violent, yet always interesting journey, by experiencing it in these reinvented forms.
