Artist Statement Submitted 2014My art is a desire to see and share our impact on land. And this story, I believe, is best told with still imagery from the sky.
Humans meet land and leave a mark affecting our surroundings. Concrete, earth movers, steel, walls and roads. Sometimes only fleeting and sometimes for a generation or more. But usually temporary in the grand scheme of Nature. Truth biding it’s time to take back what belongs to the Earth. Waiting for us to turn our attention elsewhere so it can begin the process of reclamation. Healing.
The bridge to town crosses marsh, rivers and wildlife. How are we affecting that ecosystem? New land to old. Soil to plants. Plants to soil. So that perhaps new generations will appreciate our impact. Our roll in the process. A process to be shared.
