Hiromi Moneyhun

Artist Statement Submitted 2018

The single most significant of my papercut is its sheer simplicity of materials and process. I bring nothing more to the table than paper and blade. Although my cut paper pieces are flat, they are sculptures nonetheless. My goal as a papercut artist is to both represent the world as it appears while abstracting it in order to accentuate its underlying reality.
