My paintings are primarily non-objective in nature made out of cloth, paper and wood. They come into being through a process of addition, subtraction, construction, destruction and constructing again. There is deeply woven intothe work a rigorous structural order apposing the very intuitive general amorphousness of the paint, thus suggesting a more formal complexity.
The wish to be in control and remain open to discovery is central to my work.
