My practice is about the juggling of memory. Invention and experimentation play an essential role in my art making. The need to engage in the unruly behavior of clay and paint blossomed after decades of working with flat computer generated work. Florescent colors in the ceramic sculptures are a direct outcome from the computer. One media influences the other and many times I make no couscous media distinctions. Pieces can be at odds with themselves and are at once raw, childlike, otherworldly, lumpy and violent. There is a beautiful/ugly sensibility that I am drawn to. The cross-pollination of painting, photography, drawing, sculpture and collage keeps me challenged and excited, pushing the boundaries of each media.
