Artist Statement Submitted 2015

I build large-scale sculptures that are concerned with ideas of deterioration, history, and collective memory. The work uses the vernacular of familiar architectural structures, ranging from building interiors and exteriors to roadside billboards. Comprised almost completely of new materials, the sculptures undergo multiple physical processes to achieve a fabricated state of ruin. Each work is assembled as a bricolage of various objects and structural remnants that attempt to reconstitute a new complete and unified whole.
