I create with paper. I love its look, texture, and malleable nature. Because it can be cut, torn, sliced, ripped and reassembled, I'm able to work with fluidity and speed. I'm drawn to the undervalued- newsprint, tracing paper, kraft paper, magazine paper- hoping to elevate what is under appreciated and discarded. Through the medium of paper, I explore volumetric potential with my three-dimensional installations. Contrastingly, my two- dimensional work explores the importance of the container, the boundary, the constraint of a frame. In all my work, line is a connector and is also a structuring limit to be both headed and defied.
