Rather than operating in a linear path, my interdisciplinary work is constructed through constellations of relationships rooted in an expansive practice of drawing. Stop animation, sculpture, installation and participatory structures evolve out of the democratic, connective tissues of drawing and engage vocabularies of cumulative mark-making and careful observation. Portraits, patterns of geological forms and coated textiles render material suppressed histories, political imaginaries and the passing of time.My practice is both individual and collaborative. I create a range of multimedia projects with my sister, sculptor Janelle Iglesias, as Las Hermanas Iglesias. Together, we generate installations, performative and interactive formats that often result from a synthesis of our individual studios.
