Artist Statement Submitted 2015
The Landscape Abstract series is best described as paintings from a camera. The work is intended as a memory, evocative of the experience of being immersed in the vibrant yet subtle richness of the Lowcountry landscape. First began in 2003, this series is an ongoing meditation upon the ebb and flow of the shifting colors of the seasons. Each image contains enough information to give the viewer an impression of landscape, but leaves them abstract enough to allow each individual to tap into their own personal history with this landscape, allowing the potential for a much richer experience.
