Artist Statement Submitted 2016I live in a rural community in Arkansas. We don't have much access to art . For many years my mind starved for exposure to art and creating it. I decided to make it myself.
I like to represent extremes and lots of drama in my art. It all starts by going to a marble quarry and digging through the scrap pile. The pieces of stone are misshapen. I like to create my designs by what the stone gives me. This is why some pieces are oddly shaped. Hence drama.
2015 was the first year I have exposed myself and my art. The reaction I get from people only strengthen my determination to keep doing my art. No matter what.
