Artist Statement Submitted 2016
My artwork is a reflection of human activity, and the consequences of convenience and complacency that disrupt the delicate ecosystem we are all a part of. The work becomes a memorial to the thing it is portraying, as well as a symbol of exploitation. As consumers, we need to acknowledge the need for balance, and renegotiate our constantly shifting relationship with the natural world.
